The Pure Silver

Called “the greatest sushi in the world” and respected by chefs across the globe, Sukiyabashi Jiro’s master craftsman, Ono Jirō, continues to make sushi even at 93 years old (as of October 2018).
What kind of childhood did he have?
What kinds of hardships and training did he endure?
What has supported him throughout his life?
Where did his unwavering dedication come from?

Manga artist Akira Sugita, who spent over two years following Jirō closely, including traveling to his birthplace and training sites, depicts the life of this remarkable man.

This first, fully dedicated comic, collecting the four chapters that originally ran in Big Comic Original “Sushi Special Issue” in the summer of 2016, plus the additional story “JIRO ~ Silver of Integrity” is sure to fascinate chefs and readers around the world.
